Learn about our connection to country and community through the art of basket weaving in this 5 week course.
Aboriginal cultural consultant and artist Nikki Carabetta is an artist with Yamaji and Brinkin/ Ngangikurrunggurr heritage. She predominantly works with acrylic paint on canvas and wood and regards art as a means to maintain and share her culture.
Nikki has been weaving for over 20 years using the coil method. In this series, participants will be using raffia and wool over the five weeks to create a woven project using traditional techniques.
This workshop is a 5 week course run every Thursday in October. Your ticket covers all 5 lessons, each building upon the knowledge of the previous class.
Bookings are essential, and you must commit to all sessions.
This event is proudly part of the 2024 Nature Festival.
