Make cyanotype prints with artist Donna Gordge.
Making cyanotype, or sun prints, is a fantastic art activity for all ages. The process is fascinating and there’s lot to learn about the sun and shadows. Participants are encouraged to be observant of shape, pattern and negative images. As a bonus, the results are simply beautiful! This is a popular activity for children in particular, as once they get the hang of it they are keen to experiment! Participants will use drawing and natural materials to create a composition on specially treated cyanotype paper, and then observe their work transform through exposure to sunlight and water.
Participants will leave the workshop with new art-making skills and their own prints to take home. Feel free to bring along any small objects that make interesting shadows to experiment with.
Suitable for all ages - Young children to have an adult helper please.
