Join artist OAKEY for an immersive mask-making experience on Peramangk Country at Thomas Hill House, Cudlee Creek.
Drawing inspiration from her 2021 Forestry SA residency, this workshop connects participants with nature and their personal stories through creative expression.
OAKEY will take participants on a walk around the property to gather materials from the land. Then, learn basic mask-making techniques and create your own unique mask using your gathered natural elements.
All basic materials are provided, including eco-friendly adhesives and mask forms. Participants are encouraged to bring a special item (think crystals, leaves, small twigs, pressed flowers, crystals or rocks) from a significant place to incorporate into their creation.
This 3-hour workshop will finish up with a cuppa and chat by the fire, sharing the newly created masks.
Connect with nature, explore creativity, and uncover personal narratives in this intimate, hands-on experience.
Space is limited. Suitable for adults and 16+ teens. No prior artistic experience necessary.
OAKEY participated in a Nature Festival artist residency with ForestrySA in 2021, exhibiting work from her experience at ACE Gallery.
