The Science of Forest Bathing!
This event explores the therapeutic practice of 'forest bathing' or Shinrin-yoku; specifically, the science behind the practice!
The engaging session in the beautiful surroundings of Belair NP will highlight how spending mindful time in forests and allowing all the senses to connect with nature can reduce stress, enhance mood and immune function and improve overall wellbeing. Through a guided walk with props, you'll learn about the profound connection between nature and mental/physical health. In particular, I focus on the #science behind this growing movement, backed by evidence-based insights from the latest research in microbiome science and neuroscience. No bathing suit required.
Join Dr Jake M. Robinson for this unique experience!
Jake respectfully acknowledges that the gathering will be on Kaurna Land traditionally owned by the Kaurna People.
Having basic fitness is all that is required to join Jake for this session (being able to walk 1-2km comfortably). The terrain can be slightly uneven in places so comfortable footwear is encouraged.
