Professional South Australian Artists: Nature Festival invites you to develop and present new work in a dynamic and responsive festival environment. Nature Festival is an open-access festival which also curates and supports new site-specific and audience-engaged work.
The aim of the festival is to transform our individual and collective relationships with nature. Nature is The festival was started as a grassroots systems-change movement in 2020 and has grown to annual event with tens of thousands of participants, hundreds of events and hundreds of partners.
Nature Festival is conducting a call out to the artist community for Expressions of Interest in the 2024 Festival Program.
As a festival we are seeking to support the realisation of works for the Festival Program September 28 - October 13th, 2024. Works will be deeply contemplative of human’s interconnectedness with the living world, works could be participatory, will be audience focused (suitable for a broad festival audience), will engage with the festival themes of Awe and Wonder, or encourage a transformational relationship with the living world, works will lend themselves to either multiple-showings, ongoing installation or peak large scale moments.
Nature Festival is seeking EOI’s for ideas that are well researched, ready for development and realisation in 2024 (or potentially 2025), close to ready for presentation for funding/philanthropy opportunities, something that has possibly already undertaken some development opportunities and needs a support for it’s final iteration or something that is new and excitingly well suited to the festival context.
Nature Festival can offer production support from EOI through to the realisation of the project as well as supporting: the application process for funding/philanthropy opportunities, Venue Hire (and finding a project-aligned location), research networks within the environmental sector, advertising, marketing as well as seed funding of $3,000 - $5,500 in artist/project fees per project, with intention to grow through supported applications throughout the year. We will be seeking 1-4 projects to support in 2024.
