The private Kitchen Garden nestled amid Bird in Hand’s Adelaide Hills Estate is rich with produce that translates to the planet-to-plate inspired menu of LVN, the high-end restaurant on-site (recently nominated ‘Best New Restaurant’ in the Gourmet Traveller Annual Restaurant Awards).
In a special Nature Festival exclusive, Bird in Hand is opening up the Kitchen Garden for ticket-holders to immerse themselves in the restaurant’s offering, with Executive Chef Jacob Davey presenting an outdoor cooking demonstration of LVN-inspired canapes using ingredients straight from the garden; canapes which guests will then enjoy.
Upon arrival guests will be greeted with a glass of Bird in Hand Methodé traditionelle 'O' Sparkling. Waiters will roam the Kitchen Garden serving a range of Bird in Hand wines alongside the canapés, while guests observe Chef Jacob in action. Bird in Hand co-owner and Garden Designer Susie Nugent will then join Jacob as the pair host a live Q&A.
Following this, Susie will lead guests for a tour of the Private Family Garden and the Mediterranean-inspired Terrace Gardens. With a wine in hand, guests can appreciate secluded parts of the Estate while gaining insightful garden knowledge from Susie herself.
We strongly encourage guests to stay on the Estate following the event and make the most of our Cellar Door offering, which includes guided wine tastings and a seasonal menu of hearty shared plates. LVN is also open for bookings for those who wish to have the full LVN experience.
